What does Oppo think?

I don’t know what to think.

Too much brotruck, not enough rally.

I like it, but it depends on how serious their asking price is.

Would drive.

If I was going to throw a car body on a truck frame I’d pick something more ostentatious like a Lincoln Mark IV or a hearse or something.

Waste of a good Mustang body, but I like the idea. Use a different car where the body panels aren’t in such high demand.

Richard Rawlings’ Mustang is cooler.

I don’t know if it’s for sale or not. I saw it posted similarly to what I did here... as a “hey guys, look at this!”
I’d love to take it on the beach. :)

Hahaha! A hearse! That sounds awesome.

Yeah, right? It’s a great looking body, so such a weird application. But... I kinda like it, anyway? I dunno.

Needs just a few inches less lift, and just to have a ladder frame added to the existing subframe rails. Think “subframe connecters plus”. Lift in rear is easy with longer shackles and higher arc springs, and lift in the front would depend heavily on whether I was going 4WD like the example or more like the Grabber Olds.
I think sticking with IFS and 2WD LSD is the best option, personally. If you redrilled the upper a-arm mounts and built 2-3” of drop for the LCAs into your frame (relocated), then went with taller springs and longer shocks, you’d be pretty much all the way there. One specialty part that’s not off the shelf for the *whole thing* other than the tube underneath and rear shackles - you’d have to make special spindles to make the steering work.

Oh, there were tons of these around in the 80s built with 60s/70s/80s body/frame combos. Most of them have likely died horrible deaths since they were hacked together gimmicks, but I remember (aforementioned) hearses, Lincolns, El Caminos and Rancheros, wagons of all sorts, Camaros/Mustangs/Firebirds, Chevy IIs, and pretty much every mid-size or larger vehicle you can think of. Specifically remember a guy who drove his early 80s Caddy limo on some 4x4 frame up to the dirt track every single weekend.

I love these. Don’t know why, but I do.

down the beach, yes!

A ‘59/‘60 Buick hearse by Flxible would be quite nice with some height.

Well its almost close to being a rally-stang and everyone knows that rally mustang is best mustang

It’s not my thing but if it makes the owner happy, why not? It’s not like Mustangs are rare. I’ve seen quite a few second gen Camaro and Firebirds done up like that.

Alternately, one can get a Mustang which is good only for trim and VIN, and do this:
http://www.cjponyparts.com/dynacorn-compl…
I don’t know if there’s a man out there who needs a brand new-in-every-way lifted rally Mustang, but it’s waaaay possible.

To expound on my other post, this:
http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/5234342277…
plus the Dynacorn body, plus about $300 in steel tube, + about $5k in miscellaneous parts, + $6k for a coyote, + $6k in paint, + $5k in trans, etc. and that puts you around *only* 40-some thou for a pretty crazy ‘67 Mustang that’s pretty much brand new throughout. Which could include being all Rally-ish.

I’d like it more if it wasn’t a fastback. Feel free to ruin all the notchbacks you like, but a fastback? No, sir. No.
